With a view to responding to curriculum reform for IT for interactive learning, project learning and moral and civic education, our school adopts WELNET, an online English learning platform developed by the City University. With more than 40 local primary schools using this scheme, Welnet is regarded as one of the most widely used English online learning platforms in Hong Kong.

Its pedagogical use helps enrich students English learning development and can simultaneously achieve the two key tasks – “Reading to learn” and “IT for interactive learning”. The advantages also include the convenience of learning without the limitations of time and location and of helping to maximize English exposure outside class time.

By using online English learning games, reading e-books, creating e-story, and online English language exercises, the students can enrich their language skills and fortify their language development. The online Bulletin Board also increases language interaction between teachers and students. Our teaching staff find that the students greatly enjoy using this scheme and hopefully it can accelerate their English learning development.
